The Bear Den of Pack 254 delivered the goods on Monday, March 26th, 2012; that is they delivered the canned goods that they, along with the other Dens at Pack 254, collected during the annual canned food drive competition to Rowan Helping Ministries in Salisbury. The Bear Den delivered over 625 lbs of needed food to the Ministy.In addition to adding much needed food to the homeless and less fortunate of Rowan County, the Bear Den were hosted by Cam Campbell, Director of Resource Development at Rowan Helping Ministries, who gave the Den a tour of the facilities.
The Bear Den learned about all the things Rowan Helping Ministries does in addition to providing food, clothing and shelter to folks who have found themselves in a situation many of them never thought the would find themselves; homeless. There were alot of good questions and Cam was up to the task of providing answers. In the future, Pack 254 will look for other opportunities to provide help to the needy in our community as we try to make our community a better place to live.
