For the third time in the last four years, Pack 254 celebrated Flag Day by hosting a Flag Retirement Ceremony. With the help of Troop 254, the Honor Guard from the Rowan County Sheriff's Department and the Sheriff Kevin Auten, Pack 254 retired approximately 30 flags that were torn and stained. The Salisbury Post was present to report on this solemn ceremony and you can read more about it by clicking
HERE. Below are a couple of pictures from the ceremony. I want to personally than Sheriff Auten, Lt. St. Clair, Sgt. Owens, Deputy Phillips and Sgt. Price from the Rowan County Sheriff's Department for their help. I also want to than members of the Pack 254 and Troop 254 from Bethpage United Methodist Church for coming out on their summer vacation and helping. Finally, thank you to Lt. Cecil L. Whitley, Ret. for his assistance in inspecting our flag and declaring it worthy for retirement.
